It was a marriage made in heaven. My grandmother was known for her delicious homemade chocolates. And, my grandfather believed other people would enjoy them as much as he did.
Grandpa had a sweet tooth!
In 1879, he started the Bloomer Candy Company using grandma's original recipes. Almost overnight, demand exceeded expectations. To keep up, candy making was moved from grandma's kitchen to a storefront in downtown Zanesville. Around 1900 the company built its own chocolate factory on 3rd Street. All our chocolates are still made there today using grandma's original recipes.
Bloomer Candy is a unique company by today's standards. Many of our employees are either 3rd, 4th or 5th generation Bloomer candymakers. The tradition for excellence my grandfather started over 129 years ago is still alive today.
Once you taste a Bloomer chocolate, you'll agree.
